Three-in-One Liver Transplant in Japan

The world’s first liver transplant involving four patients was carried out by doctors at Kyoto University Hospital in Japan last year. Working in four teams, 20 doctors performed a series of operations lasting 26 hours. In all, three patients with liver ailments received transplants creating a record.
